Ziller Art Space
Tο ιστορικό κτίριο επί της οδού Βασιλικής που σχεδίασε και έχτισε ο Ernst Ziller το 1893 με την πάροδο των χρόνων άλλαξε αρκετές χρήσεις, εμπορικές και ιδιωτικές - από αρχοντικό μεταλλάχθηκε τη δεκαετία του 20 και χαράχθηκε στη συλλογική μνήμη των Αθηναίων ως το δημοφιλές ξενοδοχείο “Park”. Στη συνέχεια ως εμπορικό κατάστημα εισαγωγής προϊόντων κλωστοϋφαντουργίας από τη Βραζιλία, ενώ σήμερα στεγάζει τα γραφεία του ομίλου εταιρειών Hellas Group.Το Athens Intersection πραγματοποιεί σειρά εκθέσεων στο Εμπορικό Τρίγωνο, είτε σε επιμέλεια της ομάδας του Intersection, είτε σε συνεργασία με άλλους επιμελητές με τη συμμετοχή σύγχρονων διεθνών καλλιτεχνών. Ο χώρος Ziller Art Space φιλοξένησε 2 ομαδικές εκθέσεις, εκ των οποίων η μία, το Strange days: η δυστοπία του πραγματικού, αποτέλεσε βασική έκθεση του προγράμματος του 6ου Διεθνές Φεστιβάλ Back to Athens 6.
Το Ziller Art Space αποτελεί μέρος των ιστορικών κτιρίων της νεότερης Ελληνικής αρχιτεκτονικής (από το 1860, στα μέσα της δεκαετίας του ’30 μέχρι τη δεκαετία του ’70) που συμπληρώνουν τον χάρτη δράσεων του Πολιτιστικού Προγράμματος Athens Intersection σε συνεργασία με το Πρόγραμμα Αναβάθμισης Εμπορικού Τριγώνου Athens Trigono του Δήμου Αθηναίων.
The historical building located on Vassilikis Street in the center of Athens, an original 1920’s private estate designed and built by Ernst Ziller in 1893, has adapted to re-use, serving over the years, multiple purposes, both commercial and private. It has been marked in the collective memory of the Athenians as the renowned "Park Hotel" in the 1920’s, later as a Brazilian textile company, and today houses the offices of Hellas Group.
Athens Intersection designs and implements a series of visual art exhibitions, installations and performances at the Athens Commercial Triangle, organized and curated by the Intersection team or in collaboration with other curators and contemporary artists from all over the world. Ziller Art Space has hosted 2 group exhibitions, the most recent entitled, Strange days: the dystopia of the real, featured at the 6th International Back to Athens 6 Festival.
Ziller Art Space, an important historical landmark of modern Greek architecture ranging from 1860 through the 1930’s to the 70s, constitutes part of the cultural range of activities presented by the Athens Intersection in collaboration with the Athens Commercial Triangle Revitalization Program Athens Trigono of the municipality of Athens.
