Τίποτα πια δεν είναι παράδοξο ή αξιοπερίεργο.
Όλα είναι πιθανά. Υπάρχει πρόσβαση στις αλλαγές που συντελούνται πίσω από κλειστές πόρτες; Το φως θολώνει την όραση. Στο ημίφως το γκρίζο κυριαρχεί ως η επικρατέστερη πραγματικότητα. Καμία Αρχή δεν είναι εντελώς καθαρή. Όλα βρίσκονται στην κατάσταση του εν δυνάμει. Καθώς τα περιθώρια σβήνουν ο χώρος γίνεται άπειρος. Πρόθεση του καλλιτέχνη δεν είναι να οριοθετήσει τον χώρο, αυτό θα ήταν αδύνατον. Μετουσιώνοντας την παράδοξη πραγματικότητα σε μια πιο απτή μορφή αναλαμβάνει και τον ρόλο του εξιλαστήριου θύματος. Η παραδοξότητα γίνεται πλέον μια καθημερινή πραγματικότητα που μας περιλαμβάνει ως αναπόσπαστο μέρος της. Κάθε Πόρτα που ανοίγουμε σε καινούριο δωμάτιο, κάθε παράθυρο που κλείνουμε μας οδηγεί στην ανακάλυψη ενός νέου κόσμου. Τίποτα δεν είναι παράξενο, όλα είναι πιθανά.

Η Μαρία Μπουρμπού παρουσιάζει το έργο MYOPIA, ο Γιάννης Αράπης δημιουργεί ηχοτοπία με ηλεκτρική κιθάρα, εμπνευσμένος από το ομότιτλο έργο.

Η έκθεση Nothing is really Queered είναι μέρος του Back to Athens 6 International Cultural Festival. Το Back to Athens ξεκίνησε το 2012 με σκοπό τη συγκέντρωση του Αθηναϊκού καλλιτεχνικού δυναμικού στο κέντρο της πόλης, και την προσέγγιση και εξοικείωση του κοινού με την περιοχή μέσω των πολιτιστικών εκδηλώσεων του φεστιβάλ. Το φετινό Back to Athens, το έκτο κατά σειρά, πραγματοποιείται από την CHEAPART σε συνδιοργάνωση με το Πρόγραμμα Αναβάθμισης Εμπορικού Τριγώνου του Δήμου Αθηναίων και το πολιτιστικό πρόγραμμα Athens Intersection από 1 - 10 Ιουνίου.

Nothing is really Queered
Do not be surprised, nothing anymore seems neither strange nor unexpected. Everything is possible. Do we have a say on the changes that occur behind closed doors? Bright light blurs vision. In the dark, gray becomes the predominant reality. No Authority is completely distinct. Everything is in an intermediate state, in development and progress. As margins disappear, space becomes infinite. The intention of the artist is not to define the space, that would be impossible. In translating an ambiguous reality into a more tangible concept, he/she takes on the role of the scapegoat. The paradox becomes an everyday reality that encloses us within, as an integral part of it.Each Door that we open to a new room, every window that closes, leads us to the discovery of a new world. Do not be surprised, nothing anymore seems neither strange nor unexpected.

Nothing is really Queered exhibition is part of the Back to Athens 6 International Cultural Festival. Since 2012, Back to Athens Festival unites the city’s artistic scene in a public showcase of contemporary art and expression that boosts social awareness and restores the residents of Athens to the City Center. Back to Athens 6 is organized by CHEAPART in collaboration with the Athens Commercial Triangle Revitalization Program of the municipality of Athens, and Athens Intersection cultural program taking place from June 1 - June 10, 2018.
